Learnership Responsibilities
- Assist with the sale of Schedule 1 medicines or scheduled substances, ensuring compliance with regulations.
- Support the compounding or preparation of non-sterile medicines under approved procedures, maintaining high standards of safety and accuracy.
- Unpack and merchandise stock, ensuring products are correctly displayed and accessible.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of dispensary and OTC shelves.
- Learn to accurately interpret prescriptions, identifying key information and potential issues.
- Perform picking, packing, and labelling of medication, ensuring correct items and dosages.
- Ensure all medication is thoroughly checked and signed off by a qualified pharmacist before dispensing.
- Assist with stock control, including monitoring inventory levels and identifying discrepancies.
- Monitor medicine expiry dates to ensure all stock is current and safe for use.
- Follow up with patients as requested, providing updates or additional information.
- Assist with call-centre scripts and patient service calls, offering professional and empathetic support.
- Provide health-related information to customers under the guidance of a pharmacist.
- Assist with scheme authorisation for chronic, HIV/AIDS, and oncology medication, navigating complex administrative processes.
- Report low or out-of-stock items to ensure continuous availability of essential medicines.
- Receive dispensary stock in accordance with company procedures, verifying deliveries and updating records.
- Carry out other duties assigned by the Dispensary Manager, contributing to the overall efficiency of the pharmacy.
