YES Programme 2026 – SGS South Africa

SGS, the world’s leading testing, inspection, and certification company, is seeking high-potential youth to join its YES Programme at the Barberton site. This initiative is designed to provide unemployed youth with a 12-month quality workplace experience, enhancing their employability and providing foundational skills within a global technical environment.

As a YES intern, you will gain exposure to the specialized operations of SGS, supporting technical teams and learning the international standards of quality and safety that define the brand.

Key Responsibilities

• Operational Support: Assist technical and administrative teams with daily site operations.

• Compliance: Adhere strictly to Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) protocols and SGS quality standards.

• Data & Documentation: Assist with data entry, filing, and the preparation of technical reports.

• Learning & Development: Participate in structured training modules and mentorship sessions provided through the YES initiative.

• Team Collaboration: Work effectively within a diverse team to ensure operational targets are met.

To be eligible for the YES Programme, applicants must strictly meet the following criteria:

• Education: A completed Matric (Grade 12) certificate is essential. A tertiary qualification (Diploma or Degree) in Science, Administration, or Logistics is an advantage.

• Age: Must be between 18 and 35 years old (Youth category).

• Employment Status: Must be currently unemployed.

• Citizenship: Must be a South African citizen (for B-BBEE and YES compliance).

• Location: Must be based in or able to commute to Barberton/Kaapmuiden, Mpumalanga.

• Experience: Must not have participated in a previous YES programme with another employer.

Required Skills & Attributes

• Strong communication skills (verbal and written).

• A willingness to learn and a proactive "can-do" attitude.

• Basic computer literacy (MS Office).

• High level of integrity and professional conduct.
