Job Description
BDO South Africa is inviting qualified, motivated, and career-driven graduates to apply for the People & Culture Internship Programme based at their Johannesburg offices in Gauteng. This 12-month fixed-term programme offers recent graduates in Human Resources, Industrial Psychology, and Business Administration hands-on exposure to human capital operations within a leading international audit, advisory, and professional services firm. Interns will gain foundational industry experience, develop critical workplace competencies, and actively contribute to key talent management and employee engagement initiatives.
As an intern within the People & Culture division, successful candidates will work closely with seasoned HR practitioners and business leaders across diverse organizational functions. The programme is structured to provide an immersive learning environment where young professionals can bridge academic knowledge with practical human resources practice, talent acquisition, reporting, and employee relations coordination in a corporate setting.
Key Responsibilities
HR Administration & Coordination: Maintain accurate employee files, update internal HR databases, and assist with document preparation across the full employee lifecycle.
Recruitment Support: Coordinate interview schedules, track applicant documentation, and assist with talent acquisition communication.
Data Capturing & Reporting: Compile human capital metrics, assist with spreadsheet updates in Microsoft Excel, and prepare monthly presentation decks in PowerPoint.
Onboarding & Induction: Support the seamless integration of new employees through onboarding logistics, welcome packs, and orientation scheduling.
Employee Engagement & Culture: Assist with the coordination of internal wellness initiatives, employee feedback surveys, and culture-building projects.
Professional Communication: Draft polished emails, formal correspondence, and announcements under the direction of senior People & Culture consultants.

Requirements
Relevant Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Industrial Psychology, or Business Administration
Clear and confident communication skills in English (both written and verbal)
Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
Strong administrative ability with keen attention to detail and record-keeping accuracy
Proven organizational and time-management capabilities
South African citizenship or valid permanent residency status
Previous office administration, data capturing, or coordination experience is advantageous
