Key Responsibilities

• Accurately balance and reconcile the daily cash takings from all cashiers, ensuring all transactions are accounted for and discrepancies are identified promptly.
• Prepare and complete detailed settlement sheets for each cashier, documenting their daily financial activities and ensuring compliance with internal audit procedures.
• Meticulously record any cash shortages or overages, investigating the causes and reporting findings to management to maintain financial accountability.
• Finalise and reconcile the overall daily taking sheet, cross-referencing with sales data and other financial records to ensure complete accuracy.
• Organise and prepare all daily cash and cheque takings securely for collection by armoured services or for direct banking, adhering to strict security protocols.
• Conduct the physical banking of cheques and cash deposits, ensuring all funds are safely and correctly transferred to the company's bank accounts.
• Proactively manage and order sufficient change for the following day's trading operations, preventing any disruptions to customer service.
• Communicate accurate daily takings figures to the central support office, contributing to overall financial reporting and analysis.
• Promptly report any significant financial discrepancies or irregularities to store management for immediate investigation and resolution.
• Strictly adhere to all company policies and procedures related to float management, cash office operations, and financial security, upholding the highest standards of integrity.
