Job Description
An Eskom Internship Programme offers a foundational opportunity for aspiring professionals in analytical chemistry or chemical engineering. Key Responsibilities

- Perform detailed chemical analyses on various media, including transformer oil and water, utilizing a range of laboratory equipment and adhering to strict quality control protocols.
- Actively contribute to maintaining and improving safety, health, and quality standards within the laboratory, ensuring compliance with international standards such as ISO 17025, ISO 45001, and ISO 14001.
- Utilize Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) for efficient data entry, tracking, and reporting, ensuring accurate and auditable record-keeping.
- Assist the laboratory supervisor in various operational tasks, including equipment maintenance, calibration, troubleshooting, and inventory management.
- Participate in sampling activities for different media across various Eskom sites, ensuring proper collection, handling, and transportation procedures are followed.
- Contribute to the cost-effectiveness of laboratory operations through efficient resource management, waste reduction, and process optimization initiatives.
- Develop and apply critical problem-solving skills to address technical challenges, interpret analytical results, and propose improvements to existing methodologies.
- Engage in continuous learning and professional development, staying updated with relevant industry standards, environmental legislation, and general laboratory best practices.
