MSD is inviting ambitious, analytical, and driven graduates to apply for the position of Marketing Associate Oncology Intern based in Midrand. In this dynamic corporate internship within the Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA) Oncology Cluster, the successful candidate will gain deep exposure to pharmaceutical marketing, commercial strategy, digital engagement, and healthcare compliance while collaborating with experienced commercial leaders and cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities
Support the creation, adaptation, and formal review of oncology promotional and educational materials, ensuring absolute scientific accuracy and adherence to strict regulatory guidelines.
Manage tracking logs, approval workflows, and version control across internal platforms to guarantee timely delivery of marketing campaigns.
Collaborate cross-functionally with Brand and Customer Managers, Medical Affairs, Regulatory, Compliance, Digital Marketing, and external agency partners.
Gather, analyze, and synthesize competitive intelligence, market trends, and customer insights across the SSA oncology landscape.
Prepare high-quality presentations, executive briefing summaries, pre-reads, and training resources for commercial teams.
Assist in the planning, coordination, and administrative execution of marketing activities, medical advisory boards, internal product workshops, and field force enablement initiatives.
Leverage omnichannel marketing platforms and modern data analysis tools to evaluate campaign effectiveness and optimize customer journeys.
Participate in targeted field exposure alongside commercial representatives to better understand clinical customer dynamics and local healthcare realities.
Maintain comprehensive documentation to ensure audit-readiness and full compliance with corporate operating procedures.

Requirements
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in Life Sciences, Pharmacy, Biomedical Sciences, Health Sciences, Business Science, Marketing, Data Science, or Digital Marketing.
Recent graduate with a demonstrated passion for oncology, healthcare innovation, and pharmaceutical commercial strategy.
Strong analytical acumen with the ability to interpret data, identify patterns, and draw actionable strategic insights.
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with strong presentation capabilities.
High level of organizational skill, meticulous attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple project timelines.
