Metropolitan Life is offering an exciting 12-month Human Capital Learnership Programme, designed for unemployed youth eager to launch their careers in the dynamic insurance industry. This programme provides a unique opportunity to gain invaluable workplace experience, focusing on sales and customer service within one of South Africa's most established financial services brands. Participants will not only develop practical skills but also work towards obtaining a Wealth Management NQF Level 4 qualification, guided by industry experts. Role Purpose
The primary purpose of this Learnership programme is to equip unemployed youth with essential skills and practical experience within the insurance sector. Starting in October 2026, the programme is tailored for individuals with a keen interest in sales and customer service, providing a structured pathway to professional growth. Learners will engage directly with the operational aspects of Metropolitan Life, contributing to the company's mission of providing affordable financial solutions and fostering financial growth and security for its diverse client base.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Complete all theoretical learning modules and assessments diligently.
- Timely complete all administrative and reporting duties associated with the learnership role.
- Collate, compile, and distribute documents according to required standards and within defined timeframes.
- Attend to all client queries in a professional and empathetic manner, ensuring an excellent client experience.
- Strive to meet and exceed client service level agreements consistently.
- Screen and accurately route all incoming queries to the appropriate stakeholders for efficient resolution.
- Actively assist in the resolution of client queries, demonstrating problem-solving skills.
- Maintain high standards of office housekeeping and organization.

- Exceptional attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in all tasks.
- Strong planning and time management skills to handle multiple responsibilities effectively.
- Developed numerical reasoning ability and analytical skills for data interpretation.
- Fluent verbal and written communication and comprehension in English, facilitating clear interactions.
