Grade 12 B4A Retail Learnership 2026 Cape Town Entry Level
Job Description
B4A (Business for All) is offering a Retail Learnership Programme for 2026 based in Cape Town CBD, Western Cape. This opportunity is targeted at unemployed South African youth who are looking to gain practical retail experience combined with accredited training through the W&RSETA (Wholesale and Retail Sector Education and Training Authority).
This learnership programme is designed to equip participants with both theoretical knowledge and hands-on workplace experience in the retail industry. Learners will attend structured training sessions facilitated by an accredited training provider while also working in a real retail environment to develop essential job skills.
Participants will be actively involved in day-to-day retail operations, including customer service, merchandising, stock replenishment, and point-of-sale (POS) support. This ensures that learners gain a full understanding of how retail businesses operate, from assisting customers on the shop floor to maintaining store standards and handling transactions.
The programme also requires learners to complete assessments, assignments, and a Portfolio of Evidence (PoE), which is a critical component for obtaining a recognized qualification aligned with W&RSETA standards. This structured approach ensures that learners not only gain experience but also leave the programme with formal certification, improving their employability in the retail and customer service sectors.
Learners will be expected to maintain accurate logbooks documenting their daily workplace activities and learning progress. They will also work closely with supervisors, mentors, and facilitators who will guide their development throughout the programme. This mentorship component is important for building confidence, improving performance, and preparing learners for future employment opportunities.
The learnership emphasizes professional behaviour, punctuality, teamwork, and adherence to company policies, ensuring that candidates develop the discipline and work ethic required in a professional retail environment. Participants must also comply with workplace health and safety standards and contribute to maintaining a clean and organized store environment.
This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for individuals who have little to no work experience and want to build a career in retail, sales, or customer service. Upon successful completion, learners will have gained valuable industry experience, making them strong candidates for permanent roles within the retail sector or similar industries.
The B4A Retail Learnership Programme is highly suitable for motivated individuals who are eager to learn, willing to work flexible retail hours, and committed to completing both the academic and practical components of the programme.
