Job Description
A reputable agricultural enterprise represented by Farm Manager SA is currently seeking dedicated, energetic individuals for the role of General Farm Worker (Livestock) based in the scenic Bedford region of the Eastern Cape. This employment opportunity is ideally suited for practical candidates who have a passion for animal husbandry, livestock farming operations, and hands-on maintenance duties. Preference will be given to candidates residing in or originating from the Eastern Cape and Northern Cape regions.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with the daily handling, feeding, herding, and health monitoring of livestock, including Angora Goats, Merino sheep, and cattle.
Safely operate farm equipment and machinery, including tractors and motorbikes, across varying terrain.
Carry out basic infrastructure upkeep, welding, fence repairs, and general farm maintenance tasks.
Support livestock management processes, including dipping, dosing, shearing prep, and movement between grazing pastures.
Work alongside farm dogs and utilize horseback handling where required to herd livestock efficiently.
Maintain a clean, organized, and secure working farm environment while adhering strictly to farm safety guidelines.
Collaborate closely with team members and report daily progress or animal welfare issues to the farm manager.

Requirements
Hands-on experience working with livestock, specifically Angora Goats, Merino sheep, and cattle.
Valid driver’s license.
Demonstrated ability to drive a tractor.
Ability to ride a motorbike safely on farm terrain.
Ability to ride a horse and work with sheep dogs is highly advantageous.
Practical skills in basic welding, fencing, and maintenance work.
Fluency in either isiXhosa or Afrikaans is essential.
Strong work ethic, reliability, and the ability to work effectively in a team.
Clean criminal record (checks will be required for shortlisted candidates).
