Analytical Chemistry Internship at SANEC Corporation

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out job card activities such as sampling, routine calibrations, lab analysis, and lab test work according to approved schedules and requests.
• Generate accurate lab reports for performed work and conduct cross-checks to ensure reliability of results.
• Provide weekly feedback to the Section Head or Team Leader on the status of assigned work.
• Complete and submit accurate timesheets to facilitate cost recovery.
• Report lab equipment defects timeously to ensure continuous lab availability.
• Perform intermediate checks independently to ensure quality assurance for all work.
• Operate and perform basic maintenance of laboratory instrumentation.
• Update stock lists and report consumable needs to ensure the laboratory is well-resourced.
• Maintain quality control charts to verify the accuracy of results.
• Contribute technical inputs to development/improvement projects and attend project meetings as required.
• Perform activities according to approved project schedules.
• Perform calibrations in compliance with all applicable instructions and procedures, adhering to quality system requirements (QM, Procedures, SANAS).
• Maintain general laboratory facilities according to ISO/IEC 17025 Quality Management System standards.
• Assist with the review and updating of information for the development and implementation of laboratory operational methods and procedures.
• Undertake actions to close out Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) or implement corrective measures.
• Ensure cleanliness and good housekeeping in the work environment.
• Perform activities required to fulfil BBS requirements in the workplace.
• Adhere to individual training matrix/plans to acquire new knowledge and keep professional certifications updated.
• Provide technical assistance in the training of interns and other trainees.
• Attend identified courses to increase knowledge required in the laboratory.
• Apply to become a SANAS technical signatory.
