This role offers a comprehensive introduction to the full software development lifecycle, providing invaluable exposure to modern technologies and best practices within a reputable organisation.
Key Responsibilities
Apply critical thinking, design thinking, and problem-solving skills in an agile team environment to solve complex technical problems (Front End, Back End, and Integration) with high-quality solutions leveraging C# (.NET), SQL Server, JavaScript/Typescript, ReactJs, Apex, Kubernetes, RabbitMQ, Git, and AWS.
Contribute to all phases of the development lifecycle, including sizing stories and adhering to application design and architecture principles.
Produce well-organized, optimized, and documented source code to deliver technical solutions.
Leverage troubleshooting skills and underlying knowledge of technology to solve technical challenges during the design, implementation, and support phases.
Adhere to technical organization principles of self-service, repeatability, testability, scalability, and resilience.
Implement general design patterns and paradigms to deliver technical solutions.
Create and maintain DevSecOps CI/CD Pipelines (authoring and supporting CI/CD pipelines in Apex and AzureDevOps for deployment to multi-site environments).
Use and configure modern observability techniques (AppDynamics, Instana, OpenTelemetry) for application monitoring.
Automate tasks through appropriate tools and scripting (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, Powershell, Groovy).
Debug existing source code and polish feature sets.
Work with guilds and other technical SMEs to improve and evolve technical products and services.
Apply unit testing frameworks and perform integration, validation, and verification testing using Moq and MsTest.
Manage branching and merging in support of project delivery, setting up quality gates to ensure conformance to team best practices.
Align all application development and development processes with Group Architecture, Security, and Infrastructure guidelines.
Work with project and program teams to plan and manage the development lifecycle, including releases, risk management, testing, and integration.
Conduct reviews, performance monitoring, and ongoing optimization and maintenance on applications.
Stay ahead of emerging technologies and development practices.
Collaborate with other team members under the leadership of the Lead Product Engineer.
Participate in peer reviews, testing, and problem-solving within and across the broader team.
Act as a subject matter expert in the development and planning of the broader product engineering team.
Demonstrate self-leadership to learn, develop skills, and build confidence.
Participate in incident management and DR activity, applying critical thinking and technical expertise.
Deliver work on time and within specification.
