SAICA Trainee Programme at Siemens Healthineers
Job Description
Siemens Healthineers is inviting high-achieving accounting graduates to join their structured SAICA Trainee Programme 2026 / 2027 based in Midrand, Gauteng. Designed for aspiring Chartered Accountants who have completed their Postgraduate Diploma in Accounting (CTA) or equivalent, this comprehensive training contract offers foundational immersion into the financial and operational mechanics of a world-leading medical technology and healthcare enterprise. Trainees will work closely with seasoned financial professionals, gaining hands-on exposure across corporate governance, management accounting, external and internal reporting, and commercial project management.
As an accredited SAICA training environment, Siemens Healthineers provides an inspiring, inclusive corporate culture that empowers graduates to step beyond their comfort zones. Candidates will develop technical accounting skills aligned with South African and international standards (IFRS), working within multinational teams to deliver critical healthcare solutions and drive operational excellence across the African continent.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Statement Preparation: Plan, prepare, and consolidate balance sheet and profit and loss (P&L) statements in compliance with IFRS, GAAP, and local statutory standards.
Financial Analysis & Reporting: Analyze, evaluate, and report on company assets and liabilities, contributing directly to monthly management packs and annual financial statements.
Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist in planning, compiling, and capturing corporate operational budgets and financial forecasts using advanced ERP systems such as Spiridon and ESPRIT.
Reconciliations & Compliance: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, vendors, and regional clients to perform complex account status reconciliations and resolve accounting queries.
Cost Allocation & Project Support: Allocate corporate infrastructure costs according to approved budgets across divisions and provide specialized financial reporting (e.g., ADSTAR) to global headquarters.
Guideline & Standards Implementation: Keep abreast of evolving accounting guidelines, update internal standard operating procedures, and assist in facilitating technical finance training sessions.
SAICA Competency Achievement: Actively track, document, and meet all technical, professional, and ethical SAICA learning outcomes within prescribed training timelines.
Why Join the Company
Siemens Healthineers is a global pioneer in medical technology, empowering healthcare providers worldwide to expand precision medicine and improve patient outcomes. Joining the organisation as a SAICA Trainee offers exceptional career benefits, including:
Direct mentorship and professional development under qualified CAs and senior commercial leaders.
Rotational exposure across core accounting competencies, including Taxation, Internal Audit, Financial Management, and Controlling.
A progressive, diverse, and caring global culture committed to continuous professional development and personal well-being.
Access to leading-edge enterprise financial systems, international reporting frameworks, and cross-border commercial projects.
Application Strategy (Exclusive)
Highlight CTA / PGDA Academic Credentials: Clearly detail your undergraduate and postgraduate academic track records, highlighting strong performance in Financial Accounting, Auditing, and Management Accounting.
Showcase IFRS & Technical Proficiency: Emphasize your working knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and mention any hands-on experience with advanced Excel, financial modelling, or ERP systems.
Demonstrate Healthcare Sector Motivation: Tailor your cover letter to articulate why you specifically want to pursue your SAICA articles within a multinational healthcare technology environment rather than a traditional auditing firm.

Candidates shortlisted for the SAICA Trainee Programme should prepare to answer in-depth competency and technical accounting questions, such as:
