Job Description
OUTsurance is currently inviting dynamic, driven, and ambitious graduates to apply for the Legal Internship opportunity based at their head office in Centurion. This graduate internship is specifically structured to provide young legal and business administration graduates with hands-on exposure to corporate legal recoveries, litigation readiness, and insurance claims assessment. As a Legal Intern, you will play a pivotal role in reviewing liability, preparing recovery claims against municipal and government entities, and ensuring high-quality claim documentation is processed efficiently.
This opportunity offers a comprehensive bridge between academic theory and practical corporate law within South Africa's leading short-term insurance environment. You will work closely with seasoned legal and recovery specialists, gaining in-depth understanding of civil liability, evidence collection, and municipal claim procedures.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct thorough legal assessments to determine municipal and governmental liability arising from pothole-related damages.
Gather, verify, and consolidate essential supporting evidence and documentation to substantiate insurance recovery claims.
Draft comprehensive litigation sheets and formal correspondence for legal panel review and external legal firms.
Compile, organize, and manage complete, litigation-ready recovery case files to maximize recoveries for the insurer and its clients.
Liaise effectively with internal claim consultants, external stakeholders, and municipal representatives where applicable.
Maintain accurate electronic records and follow up on pending recovery matters in line with organizational compliance and turnaround times.

Requirements
Grade 12 / Matric certificate or equivalent qualification.
Completed Bachelor's Degree in Law (LLB), Business Administration, or an equivalent relevant qualification.
Computer literacy with proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Must be a South African citizen.
Must be between the ages of 18 and 35 years old.
Must be currently unemployed and ready to enter full-time internship employment.
Must not have previously participated in an internship or learnership funded by INSETA.
Strong analytical ability, attention to detail, and sound written communication skills.
