The Social Housing Regulatory Authority (SHRA) is inviting applications from ambitious, career-driven, and unemployed South African graduates for the prestigious HR Internship Programme. As an HR Intern at the SHRA, you will work alongside seasoned human resources professionals and gain comprehensive insight into public sector compliance, talent acquisition, employee relations, and HR administration. The programme is designed to bridge the gap between academic theory and practical execution, fostering core competencies in talent development, records management, and organizational culture.
Key Responsibilities
Provide day-to-day administrative support to the Human Resources department and assist with core administrative duties.
Assist in the end-to-end recruitment and selection lifecycle, including scheduling interviews and compiling candidate packs.
Support employee onboarding and offboarding processes, ensuring all required statutory and organizational documentation is complete and securely archived.
Maintain and update accurate digital and physical personnel records in compliance with relevant governance standards and organizational policies.
Assist with the administration of employee leave, attendance tracking, and general HR queries.
Assist in preparing professional HR reports, presentations, memoranda, and internal correspondence.
Support the coordination and operational rollout of employee wellness programmes, skills development initiatives, and training sessions.
Help ensure human resources files and documentation remain audit-ready and meet high compliance standards.
Participate actively in designated HR projects, departmental events, and ad hoc organizational audits.
Gain valuable practical exposure to the South African Labour Relations Act, Basic Conditions of Employment Act, and internal HR policies.

Requirements
A recognised three-year Bachelor's Degree or National Diploma (NQF Level 6 or 7) in Human Resources Management, Human Resource Development, Industrial Psychology, Labour Relations, or an equivalent qualification.
South African citizenship, strictly under the age of 35 years.
Proficiency in computer applications, particularly the Microsoft Office Suite (MS Word, MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
Strong administrative, coordination, and organisational abilities.
High attention to detail and accuracy in records management.
Demonstrated capability to handle sensitive corporate information with the utmost discretion and strict confidentiality.
High level of resilience, self-motivation, and ability to perform effectively under pressure.
