Tharisa Minerals is seeking a dedicated and proactive Junior Support Technician to join their IT team in the North West province. Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical assistance to end-users by resolving basic hardware and software issues, ensuring minimal disruption to daily operations.
- Maintain and administer various back-office IT systems and servers, contributing to high availability and security of Tharisa Minerals' business applications.
- Contribute to the improvement of support processes and procedures to enable prompt Service Desk support delivery and enhance user satisfaction.
- Create and submit daily and weekly productivity reports to provide superiors with a clear view of customer service response times and workload.
- Retrieve server data to create comprehensive reports, submitting them to superiors as required for analysis and decision-making.
- Provide input into required changes in resources (financial or non-financial) to enable the achievement of team and/or individual objectives.
- Determine resource needs for the team and own area of work to achieve business outcomes efficiently.
- Request and allocate required assets and/or resources for the fulfilment of work objectives, guaranteeing quality outputs.
- Monitor the use of assets and resources within the team and own area of responsibility, ensuring consistent and appropriate utilisation and management.
- Document the retrieval of assets and peripherals for end-users to maintain an accurate and up-to-date asset database.
- Prioritise Service Desk tickets to address customer queries in the most efficient manner possible, adhering to service level agreements.
- Use a basic understanding of customer requirements and business objectives to provide input into how best to address customer needs.
- Actively respond to queries and handle complaints, including those related to account setup and computer or network system configurations, to improve customer support.
- Follow up with customers to identify areas of improvement and ensure lasting solutions.
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network problems for internal TM clients using an understanding of computer systems, mobile devices, and other technology products.
- Provide clear instructions to a non-technical audience, using a technical background, to successfully guide them in addressing errors/faults or other technical difficulties.
- Escalate difficulties to senior technicians, providing a view of work completed against Service Level Agreements, to gain support in prompt resolution.
- Work within established configuration and Change Management Policies to ensure approval and success of changes made to Configuration Items.
- Support routine maintenance tasks on hardware and software, including updates, installations, and configurations, to ensure optimal performance.
- Communicate with all relevant departments on issues of the area of speciality, liaising with appropriate stakeholders to ensure alignment and avoid duplication of work.
- Communicate with internal and/or external stakeholders, where required, to achieve work objectives and maintain strong professional relationships.

- COMPTIA A+ Certification
- COMPTIA N+ Certification
- ITIL Foundation Certification
- Microsoft 365 Fundamentals Certification

- Minimum of 1-2 years of relevant experience
