This role is ideal for individuals with a Grade 12 certificate and some exposure to production processes, seeking to build a career in the mining and metals industry. Key Responsibilities

• Ensure the effective and efficient operation of the entire production process, utilising manual operations when necessary, while diligently maintaining process conditions and monitoring key production parameters to achieve optimal output.
• Operate and control various types of plant equipment, including heavy media drums, conveyor belts, vibrating screens, and pumps, ensuring their safe and efficient functioning.
• Conduct thorough pre-shift inspections of equipment, machine parts, and components of the production line to guarantee continuous production flow in accordance with established standards and procedures.
• Continuously observe and monitor component performance against set standards, identifying any sub-performance, non-conformance, or deviations, and promptly reporting these to the Supervisor for corrective action.
• Assist with both preventative and breakdown maintenance activities, contributing to the longevity and reliability of plant machinery and minimising operational interruptions.
• Perform hourly inspections to ensure all equipment remains functional and operational throughout shifts, proactively addressing any emerging issues.
• Adhere strictly to planned maintenance and production schedules to assist in achieving targeted production throughput and ensuring an optimised process flow.
• Identify operational constraints and troubleshoot deviations, communicating findings effectively to the supervisor or line manager to facilitate rapid resolution.
• Ensure the correct product grade is maintained by rigorously following grade assurance and control processes, upholding the quality standards of Dwarsriviermine's chrome ore.
• Perform lock-out procedures whenever required, prioritising safety in all operational tasks.
• Execute housekeeping duties as needed, maintaining a clean and organised work environment.
