Job Description
Cape Foods invites ambitious and detail-oriented graduates to apply for their comprehensive Finance Graduate Internship based in Cape Town, Western Cape. This entry-level opportunity is ideally structured for recent accounting or financial management graduates who are eager to build practical, real-world experience across multiple facets of financial operations within the dynamic FMCG and manufacturing sectors. As an intern, you will work alongside experienced finance professionals, gaining hands-on exposure to management reporting, reconciliations, inventory control, and budgeting.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Accounting & Bookkeeping: Assist with routine bookkeeping, month-end ledger balancing, audit preparation files, and balance sheet reconciliations.
Accounts Payable & Invoicing: Accurately capture supplier invoices using Traild, process foreign trade invoicing, and manage dispatch documentation.
ERP & Master Data Maintenance: Perform routine customer and supplier account maintenance using the Syspro ERP system.
Operational Reconciliations: Conduct complex retailer, rebate, CHEP pallet, crate, and warehouse inventory reconciliations.
Asset & Inventory Control: Support the maintenance of the Fixed Asset Register, execute physical asset verifications, and participate in periodic stock counts.
Management Reporting & Analysis: Compile daily sales metrics, weekly inventory summaries, cash flow forecasts, and OEE time studies for overhead allocation.
Variance Investigation: Assist senior accountants in identifying and analyzing financial and operational variances across manufacturing lines.

Requirements
