Key Responsibilities

• Risk and Pollution Control: Monitor depot operations, identify potential leaks or spillages, drain bund areas, and enforce statutory and Transnet environmental safety regulations.

• Pipeline Equipment Operation: Utilize specialized SCADA and computerized pipeline software systems to regulate the flow, transmixture, and scheduled batching of petroleum products.

• System Monitoring & Metering: Inspect product metering systems, capture data accurately, verify telemetry readouts, and perform routine quality and volume checks.

• Maintenance & Operations: Assist in launching and receiving pipeline pigs and spheres, coordinate scheduled minor maintenance, and take corrective action during emergency shutdowns.

• Communication & Reporting: Maintain continuous communication with depot controllers and external stakeholders regarding risk status, movement progress, and operational interruptions.
