As a Baker at Pick n Pay, you will be an integral part of delivering fresh, high-quality baked goods to customers across various locations. You will be responsible for the entire baking process, from ingredient selection and preparation to merchandising and customer interaction, ensuring that every product meets Pick n Pay's renowned quality benchmarks. Key Responsibilities

• Adhere strictly to ingredient selection and method in accordance with the recipe manual to ensure consistent product quality.
• Follow the bakery merchandising flow, keeping categories together and presenting products in a visually appealing manner to attract customers.
• Provide undivided attention to customers within the bakery department, answering queries and redirecting to appropriate supervisors/managers when necessary.
• Actively promote sales to achieve budget targets, contributing to the department's overall success.
• Maintain 'clean-as-you-go' procedures during production to prevent food safety risks and ensure a hygienic workspace.
• Perform deep cleaning post-production to avoid contamination and pest infestation, upholding stringent hygiene standards.
• Ensure all equipment is kept clean and in good working condition, reporting any faults or abnormalities to the relevant manager promptly.
• Adhere to safety procedures when operating bakery equipment to prevent occupational risks and ensure a safe working environment.
• Analyse daily sales, customer order books, and wastage to inform the drafting of the daily production plan, optimizing efficiency and minimizing waste.
• Actively participate in on-the-job training to enhance baking skills and contribute to an efficient work environment and effective teamwork.
