Work-Integrated Learning Intern at Necsa Group
Job Description
The Necsa Group, through the Necsa Learning Academy (NLA) and in support of the Chemical Industries Education & Training Authority (CHIETA), is offering a 12-month Work-Integrated Learning (WIL) Intern opportunity. This programme is designed to attract and develop bright, ambitious graduates in science and engineering who aspire to build meaningful careers within nuclear sciences and related technology sectors. The WIL programme aims to provide qualifying students with essential skills, knowledge, and practical experience, enhancing their employability and preparing them for the workplace before graduation. Participants will have the chance to transform theoretical knowledge into practical expertise and contribute to real projects that will shape a sustainable future for the nuclear and related technology sectors.
The Necsa Group is a recognized leader in the nuclear and energy sectors, driving innovation in research, development, and industrial applications. Through strategic initiatives like the STEM (Science, Technical, Engineering, and Mathematics) programme, Necsa actively invests in national skills development priorities for its operations and the broader national nuclear industry. The Group's development programmes are firmly aligned with its core values: Excellence, Accountability, Safety, Security, Integrity, and Innovation (EASII).
The WIL programme's primary purpose is to bridge the gap between academic learning and workplace demands by offering hands-on experience in a professional setting. Key objectives include enhancing employability skills, providing relevant industry experience, developing technical and professional competencies, exposing participants to real-world work environments, and improving opportunities for permanent employment post-completion. This programme is ideal for recent graduates, unemployed youth seeking workplace experience, and individuals looking to acquire industry-specific skills.
Key components of the programme include Workplace Placement within Necsa for a specified period, offering exposure to daily operations and industry practices. Participants will benefit from Structured Learning, including mentorship by experienced professionals and skills development workshops. Performance Monitoring through regular assessments and feedback ensures continuous development. Participants will engage in structured assignments, gain real-world project experience, receive continuous mentorship and performance development, and participate in a combination of on-the-job training, technical workshops, and specialist courses. The programme is designed to strengthen subject matter application and professional competencies such as communication, leadership, and problem-solving, establishing a solid foundation for future career growth with potential for permanent placement.
