Job Description
As a Weighbridge Operator at Sasol, you will play a crucial role in the efficient and safe movement of goods and materials within the company's operations, specifically at the Fertilizer site within the Sasol Secunda Complex. This position is integral to maintaining accurate records, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and contributing to the smooth flow of logistics. You will be responsible for the precise weighing of vehicles, managing traffic flow, and upholding high standards of safety and housekeeping in a dynamic, 24/7 shift-based environment. Key Responsibilities
- Operate the weighbridge system to accurately weigh incoming and outgoing vehicles, ensuring all data is recorded precisely.
- Monitor and control the entry and exit of trucks to and from the weighbridge area, managing traffic flow efficiently.
- Conduct continuous inspections of the staging area, weighbridge office, and surrounding areas to ensure safety and general housekeeping standards are met.
- Assist with vehicle inspections as and when required, ensuring compliance with internal and external regulations.
- Maintain meticulous records of all weighing transactions, vehicle movements, and related documentation.
- Communicate effectively with truck drivers, logistics personnel, and other stakeholders to facilitate smooth operations.
- Adhere strictly to all process safety, environmental, and traffic management policies and procedures.
- Participate in a 4-shift cycle, working 24/7, demonstrating adaptability and commitment to operational demands.
- Contribute to a safe working environment by identifying and reporting any potential hazards or non-compliance issues.
