Job Description
The Takealot Group is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Supply Chain Intern to join its dynamic team for an 18-month contract. This internship offers an unparalleled opportunity to gain hands-on experience within a leading e-commerce environment, working alongside industry experts. The successful candidate will contribute to critical warehouse operations, supporting the efficiency and effectiveness of the supply chain from inbound logistics to dispatch and planning. This role is designed to develop both technical proficiencies and essential soft skills, preparing interns for a successful career in a fast-paced, large-scale operational setting. Interns will be exposed to various facets of supply chain management, learning best practices and contributing to real-world projects that impact the company's extensive operations across South Africa.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the development, review, and maintenance of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and process documentation across various warehouse functions, ensuring operational clarity and compliance.
- Actively contribute to day-to-day warehouse operations, including INBOUND, INVENTORY, OUTBOUND, DISPATCH, and PLANNING, gaining comprehensive exposure to the entire supply chain lifecycle.
- Prepare clear, concise reports, dashboards, and presentations to effectively communicate findings, insights, and recommendations to DC operations management, aiding in strategic decision-making.
- Work collaboratively with diverse cross-functional teams, including Operations, Supply Chain, Logistics, IT, Facilities, and Health & Safety, fostering a holistic understanding of business interdependencies.
- Monitor operational performance against key performance indicators (KPIs), assisting in the identification of improvement opportunities and the implementation of corrective actions to enhance efficiency.
- Participate actively in problem-solving initiatives, identifying root causes of operational challenges, proposing practical and innovative solutions, and supporting their successful implementation.
- Assist in data analysis and interpretation to identify trends, forecast demands, and optimize inventory levels, contributing to cost-saving initiatives and improved service delivery.
- Engage in continuous learning and development, participating in technical and soft skill courses provided by the program to enhance professional capabilities.

Requirements
- NCV Certificate/N6 Certificate in Warehousing/ Operations/ Supply chain/Data analytics
- Computer Literacy
- Strong Attention to Detail
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Time management and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Data interpretation and presentation skills
- Understanding of socioeconomic and public policy issues
- Private Security Sector/SAPS/Armed Forces experience (beneficial)
