Job Description
The Department of Tourism is offering an exciting entry-level opportunity for unemployed youth to join their team as a Supply Chain Clerk: Demand and Logistics Management. This role is based in Pretoria and is ideal for individuals looking to gain valuable experience in government procurement and logistics. The position requires a Grade 12 or National Senior Certificate and offers a comprehensive learning experience with no prior experience necessary, although a Diploma or Degree will be advantageous. Key Responsibilities
Source quotations on CSD and E-portal from service providers.
Receive and record requests for quotations.
Update the request for quotation progress register.
Print invitations and requests from selected service providers by sending RFQs.
Receive and update quotations on the register.
Evaluate quotations received and compile valuation reports.
Submit procurement documents for review and verification.
Record and send procurement documents for approval to internal users/delegates for signatures.
Follow up with end users on the approval of procurement documents.
Publish results/awards of RFQs on the E-portal.
Update the departmental contract register.
Provide support and guidance to end users on acquiring finance leases.
Update the register for transversal contracts and provide reports.
Update the register for contracts and provide reports.
Update the finance lease register and provide reports.
File the SLAs of contracts.
Send documents to the supervisor for verification.
Compile monthly reports on RFQs/RFPs timely.
Update the progress and status on RFQs/RFPs.
Maintain filing of valid BEE certificates or sworn affidavits for awarded service providers.
Attend to daily queries from internal and external clients telephonically or by email.
Provide feedback to internal clients.
Verify supplier compliance on received procurement documents.
Check the correctness of CDS reports.
Check supplier tax status and verified banking details.
Check the validity of quotations.
Ensure SBD1 and SBD4 are completed and signed by the bidder.
Check if the Directors of service providers are not employed by the state.
Compile comparative schedules and submit for review.
