OneDayOnly is seeking a highly organised and curious Studio Assistant Intern to join their dynamic marketing team at their HQ. This is an exceptional opportunity for an individual with a passion for styling, photography, fashion, or design to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced e-commerce environment. The ideal candidate is a quick learner, remains calm under pressure, and has a keen eye for detail, ensuring the studio runs smoothly and efficiently. You will be instrumental in supporting various studio operations, from styling and shoot preparation to sample coordination and general administrative tasks, contributing directly to the success of their visually driven campaigns.
Key Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive styling support by assisting the stylist in pulling wardrobes, gathering props, dressing sets, and fine-tuning the visual aesthetic during shoots.
Assist in the creation of mood boards and gathering visual references for new campaign briefs.
Learn and apply styling techniques from concept development through to the final captured image.
Prepare the studio space before shoots, ensuring backdrops, lighting equipment, tables, props, and wardrobe are ready.
Offer on-set support during shoots, including fetching, swapping, and resetting items between shots to maintain workflow efficiency.
Assist photographers and videographers with equipment management, set adjustments, and maintaining a tidy shoot floor.
Observe and absorb all aspects of the studio operations to maximise learning during the internship.
Support the sample coordinator by receiving, logging, and organising incoming product samples.
Prepare samples for shoots, ensuring they are steamed, clean, and ready for use.
Track samples throughout the shoot process and ensure their timely return in their original condition.
Proactively flag any damaged, missing, or incorrect samples to the relevant team members.
Assist with day-to-day studio operations, including shoot resets, backdrop changes, and courier hand-offs.
Support the team with administrative tasks such as managing shoot lists, sample inventories, and updating relevant documents.
Maintain the cleanliness, organisation, and overall readiness of the studio space.
Utilise Asana and Google Chat for progress tracking and team communication.
Communicate clearly and proactively with the Studio Manager and team members, especially regarding any missing items, delays, or unclear instructions.
Engage with the sales team to clarify briefs or sample requirements.
Actively ask questions to ensure understanding and to facilitate learning.

Requirements
Recently completed (or close to completing) a relevant qualification, or self-taught with a real drive to work in a studio environment.
A genuine interest in studio, styling, fashion, photography, design or e-commerce.
Any prior exposure to studios, sample rooms, retail or production sets is a plus, but not required.
Organised. You like things tidy, labelled and where they should be.
Comfortable with admin: lists, schedules, simple spreadsheets and digital tools.
Working knowledge of Google Suite. Asana (Advantageous).
Clear, polite written and verbal communication.
Attention to detail. The small things matter.
Reliable and on time. Shoots run on a tight schedule and the team needs to know you’re there.
Curious and eager to learn. You ask questions, take notes, and build on feedback.
Calm under pressure. The pace is fast, and when the day pivots, so do you.
A team player. The studio works because everyone pitches in.
Honest. If something’s gone wrong or you’re unsure, you say so early.
Eligible to work in South Africa.
Cape Town-based, or willing to relocate.
Own transport is advantageous but not essential.
