Student Internship: Bakery, Bars & Confectionery - IFF
Job Description
IFF is looking for a motivated Student Intern to join their Creative & Application team in Cape Town. In this role, you will provide support to the Pilot Plant Manager and Application Specialists within the Bakery, Bars, and Confectionery category. You will gain hands-on experience in a food science environment, assisting with product trials and laboratory functions.
Key Responsibilities:
Support the Pilot Plant Manager with daily operations.
Assist Application Specialists with bakery and confectionery trials.
Prepare samples and conduct testing on food products (bars, baked goods, sweets).
Maintain cleanliness and safety standards in the pilot plant and lab.
Assist with raw material inventory and stock management.
Document trial results and assist with reporting.
Important Note: This appears to be a Work Integrated Learning (WIL) or In-Service Training opportunity for current students who require an internship to complete their qualification
Requirements
Education: Must be currently studying towards a National Diploma or Degree in:
Food Technology
Food Science
Consumer Science (Food)
Student Status: You likely need a letter from your University stating that you require an internship/WIL to graduate.
Skills:
Passion for baking, confectionery, and food innovation.
Basic understanding of food science principles.
Computer literacy (MS Office).
Strong attention to detail and hygiene standards.
