The Democratic Alliance is seeking a dedicated and analytical Policy Research Intern to join its dynamic team in Cape Town. Key Responsibilities
- Contribute significantly to the research, consultation, writing, and presentation of DA policy documents and position papers.
- Actively work towards giving practical effect to the DA’s vision of an Open Opportunity Society for All, upholding the party's core values, principles, and ideals.
- Understand and apply the Party’s overarching strategy as it relates to the DA’s comprehensive policy programme.
- Assist in data collection, analysis, and synthesis of complex qualitative and quantitative information to inform policy positions.
- Prepare detailed reports, briefings, and presentations for various internal and external stakeholders.
- Participate in policy discussions, workshops, and stakeholder engagements.
- Monitor and analyse current affairs, legislative developments, and socio-economic trends relevant to the party's policy agenda.
- Support senior researchers and policy advisors in various ad-hoc tasks and projects.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree, ideally in social sciences, public policy, law, or economics.
- Research experience (advantageous).
- Computer literacy, particularly in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent time management and organisational abilities.
- Systematic, comprehensive approach with keen attention to detail.
- Proven problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to analyse, synthesise, and present complex information (qualitative and quantitative) in an understandable manner.
- Capacity to work with large amounts of information systematically under tight deadlines.
- Demonstrated initiative and ability to work well in high-pressure situations.

- Ability to work independently.
