Job Description
As a Junior Payroll Officer at Takealot Group, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accurate and timely processing of payroll and HR administration tasks within a dynamic e-commerce environment. Key Responsibilities
- Process appointment documents efficiently, adhering to agreed Service Level Agreement (SLA) time requirements.
- Assist with the coordination of HR information, communication, and training sessions as needed.
- Liaise effectively with benefits service providers to ensure seamless employee support.
- Accurately load new employee profiles onto the Payroll System.
- Maintain meticulous filing of all HR-related documentation, ensuring easy retrieval and compliance.
- Establish and maintain comprehensive employee records, ensuring all changes are entered correctly and promptly.
- Process termination documentation as required, ensuring all procedures are followed.
- Administer soft benefits offered by the company to employees.
- Provide support for various HR administration tasks and projects as they arise.
- Handle payroll administration, including processing and procedures, and resolving payroll queries.
- Generate and analyze payroll reports as needed.

Requirements
- Grade 12 (with mathematics at this level a requirement) and Business Management / Human Resources Diploma or equivalent.
- At least 1 – 2 years’ experience in an HR admin role with specific experience in a payroll administration environment.
- Experience with time and attendance systems is required.
- Experience working on ESS.
- Knowledge of relevant South African legislation (BCEA, UIF, SDA, PAYE, WCA).
- Accounting knowledge sufficient to perform journal entries and payroll account reconciliations.
- Proficiency in payroll administration processes and procedures.
- Ability to handle payroll queries and generate reports.
- Strong computer skills, including MS Office.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
