IT Support Intern at E media

E media is seeking a motivated and eager IT Support Intern to join their dynamic Information Technology department. This internship opportunity is designed to provide hands-on experience in maintaining, monitoring, and supporting the organisation's ICT infrastructure and end-user computing environment. The successful candidate will gain invaluable exposure to various facets of IT operations, including end-user support, Microsoft 365 administration, server maintenance, virtualisation, networking, security operations, and asset management. This role is ideal for individuals looking to kick-start their career in IT and develop a strong foundation in technical support and system administration.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive end-user support, including configuring, deploying, and troubleshooting laptops, desktops, and peripherals.

• Install, configure, and resolve issues with approved software applications.

• Assist users with account management tasks such as password resets and access provisioning.

• Accurately record and manage support requests within the service management system.

• Perform routine troubleshooting to resolve common hardware and software problems, escalating complex issues as needed.

• Assist with the administration of Microsoft 365 user accounts, licenses, and Teams support.

• Monitor the health and availability of Windows servers and assist with routine maintenance tasks.

• Support the deployment and monitoring of VMware virtual machines and infrastructure.

• Assist with monitoring network infrastructure availability and performance, and perform basic troubleshooting.

• Support security operations by monitoring endpoint security and assisting with user access controls.

• Maintain accurate IT asset registers, including hardware and software inventory.

• Liaise with users to provide timely updates on support requests and ensure satisfactory resolution.

• Collaborate with IT team members to achieve departmental objectives and support ongoing projects.

• Actively participate in assigned training, mentoring, and coaching opportunities to develop technical skills.

• Stay informed about emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices relevant to IT support.
