Homechoice is seeking a motivated and curious IT Engineering Intern to join their dynamic team in Cape Town, Western Cape. This 12-month contract opportunity is perfect for recent Diploma graduates looking to gain invaluable hands-on experience in the field of ICT Engineering and Software Development. As an intern, you will support the development, integration, and optimisation of internal systems and digital platforms, working alongside experienced professionals to build scalable solutions that enhance business operations and customer experiences. Key Responsibilities
Assist with the development, testing, and deployment of software solutions.
Support system integration, maintenance, and enhancement activities.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business and technical requirements.
Assist with troubleshooting, debugging, and performance improvement initiatives.
Contribute to technical documentation and process improvement activities.
Participate in code reviews and knowledge-sharing sessions.
Support the delivery of projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
Learn and apply software engineering best practices and emerging technologies.
Work closely with experienced engineers to gain practical exposure across the software development lifecycle.

Requirements
A completed Diploma (NQF Level 6) in Information Technology, Software Development, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
Exposure to at least one programming language such as C#, Java, Python, JavaScript, or a similar language.
An understanding of software development principles and the software development lifecycle.
Basic knowledge of databases, APIs, and system integration concepts would be advantageous.
Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
A willingness to learn and develop within a collaborative engineering environment.
Applicants must be unemployed and should not have previously participated in an internship programme.
