Momentum Group, a leading financial services provider in South Africa, is actively seeking a highly motivated and curious Human Capital Graduate Intern to join its dynamic team. This structured 12-month internship programme offers an unparalleled opportunity for a recent graduate to immerse themselves in the multifaceted world of Human Capital (HC) and Learning & Development (L&D) within a large, reputable organisation. The successful candidate will gain invaluable hands-on experience, rotating across key areas such as business partnering and L&D, working closely with experienced professionals to support day-to-day operations, coordinate essential processes, analyse critical people and learning data, and contribute to strategic projects aimed at enhancing employee experience, performance, and organisational capability. The Human Capital Graduate Intern will play a crucial role in supporting the various functions that ensure a thriving and productive workforce. This involves assisting with the entire employee lifecycle, from recruitment and onboarding to performance management and offboarding. The intern will also be instrumental in coordinating learning interventions, managing data, and contributing to initiatives that foster a positive and inclusive work environment. This position is ideal for a people-first individual who is organised, analytical, and eager to learn the craft of human resources from the inside out, contributing to the strategic goals of a prominent financial institution.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the full employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and offboarding, in collaboration with HC Business Partners.
- Coordinate interviews, induction processes, and related documentation for both HC and line managers.
- Handle routine employee and manager queries, escalating sensitive, complex, or policy-related matters appropriately.
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee records, trackers, and HC systems.
- Assist in running engagement, wellness, and diversity & inclusion initiatives, including communication, logistics, and feedback analysis.
- Prepare templates and status reports for performance and talent management processes.
- Translate people metrics into clear dashboards and actionable insights for informed decision-making.
- Contribute to HC projects, policy updates, process improvements, and audits.
- Prepare meeting packs, capture actions, and follow up with stakeholders to ensure timely completion.
- Coordinate learning interventions from end-to-end, including invitations, calendar management, material preparation, attendance tracking, evaluations, and certificate issuance.
- Support Learning Management System (LMS) administration and maintain learner records across various systems.
- Assist with learning-needs analysis by gathering and compiling relevant data.

Requirements
- A completed Bachelor's Degree in Human Resource Management, Industrial/Organisational Psychology, Business Administration (HR-related specialisation), or a related field.
- Basic understanding of Human Resource Management principles.

- Basic understanding of Learning and Development concepts.
- Basic understanding of Talent management principles.
- Basic understanding of Labour legislation fundamentals.
