HRD Instructor (TMM) at Dwarsrivier Chrome Mine
Job Description
Dwarsrivier Chrome Mine, a wholly owned subsidiary of Assore Limited, is seeking a dedicated and experienced HRD Instructor for Trackless Mobile Machinery (TMM). Situated in the Limpopo Province, approximately 60 kilometers from Lydenburg and 40 kilometers from Burgersfort, Dwarsrivier Chrome Mine is a world-class producer of Chrome Ore. The successful applicant will play a crucial role in ensuring the competence and safety of TMM operators, contributing directly to the mine's operational excellence and adherence to stringent safety standards. Reporting to the HRD Officer or nominee, the instructor will be responsible for delivering comprehensive theoretical and practical training, conducting assessments, and maintaining accurate training records within a dynamic mining environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Successfully administer, record and transfer the required knowledge (Theoretical and Practical component of TMM), skills, and attitude to a learner to perform his/her duties at the required set standards in a mining environment.
- Continuously monitor expiry dates of mine licenses, schedule assessments and renew licenses upon demonstration of learner’s competence.
- Conduct training for incumbents on the simulator and PTOs.
- Arrange training resources, i.e. venue, data projectors, computers, licenses with assistance from others.
- Perform assigned administration functions accurately and timeously, including completing Attendance Registers.
- Conduct training programs according to the Annual Training Schedule, and re-training as requested by line management.
- Facilitate training programs in a simulation/Lecturer/workplace environment.
- Follow-up and monitor training, performing Ad Hoc duties as requested by supervisor.
- Perform daily PTOs as required and conduct follow-up training.
- Conduct final theoretical and practical assessments to ensure competence of learners.
- Ensure relevant training area and equipment is always clean and all training resources are stored after use.
- Ensure health and safety of all learners and the learning environment.
- Assume responsibility for effective discipline of learners.
- Ensure effective learning takes place by continuously assessing the knowledge, skills and attitude of the learners.
- Perform diagnostic assessments, do corrective training and administer final competence declaration on TMM learners and operators on relevant simulators.
- Train learner/operator on relevant machine at the Surface Test Facility.
- Conduct formative assessment on driving skills and submit POE to supervisor for issuing of temporary license.
- Conduct relevant training and/or final assessment in the actual workplace, e.g. underground.
- Submit summative assessment to supervisor for issuing of permanent license.
- Conduct PTO’s in the actual workplace to ensure application of learned skills and competencies.
- Update license monitoring system timeously and accurately, regularly monitoring the system to ensure legal compliance.

Requirements
- Grade 12/Standard 10 Certificate.
- Certificate ODETDP Level 4 or Assessor’s & Facilitator / Train the Trainer Certificate.
- UG TMM Certificates / Skills Programmes e.g. Drill Rig, Roofbolter.
- Competent B Certificate.
- Code 08 (B) Driver’s Licence or higher.
- 5 years extensive practical Trackless machine operator underground experience.
- 1 - 2 years practical Training, facilitation and presentation experience.
- Advantageous: 1 - 2 years practical Virtual Simulation Training.
