Graduate Internship Programme at CPSI
Job Description
The Centre for Public Service Innovation (CPSI) invites ambitious, unemployed South African graduates to apply for its 24-month Graduate Internship Programme based in Pretoria, Gauteng. This comprehensive public sector youth initiative provides recent graduates with essential hands-on workplace experience to complement their academic qualifications in Internal Audit and Legal Services / Law. Candidates who have previously participated in any government internship programme will not be eligible to apply.
Key Responsibilities
Successful candidates will receive structured mentorship while executing key functional responsibilities within their respective departments:
Internal Audit Intern (Ref: 0003/2026): Assist in formulating internal audit plans, planning audit projects, executing operational audit engagements, generating professional audit reports, and supporting CPSI Audit Committees and tracking audit findings.
Legal Services Intern (Ref: 0004/2026): Support the drafting and vetting of legal opinions, service level agreements (SLAs), and contracts. Assist with public administration legislative interpretation, litigation matters, regulatory reforms, and the drafting of regulations aligned with Public Service amendment bills and determinations.
Maintain high levels of office administration, stakeholder engagement, and document management.
Uphold confidentiality standards regarding sensitive state and employee information.

Requirements
South African citizenship with a valid South African ID.
Recognised National Diploma or Degree (NQF Level 6/7) in Internal Audit (for Internal Audit role) or Law / LLB (for Legal Services role).
Must be an unemployed graduate with no previous participation in any government internship programme.
Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
Basic computer literacy (MS Office suite) and office management competence.
Demonstrated integrity, sound work ethic, and ability to handle confidential matters.
Client orientation and capacity to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
