FNB Engineering & Technology Graduate Programme (2026)
Job Description
FNB is looking for the next generation of engineers and tech specialists to join their "world of firsts." Unlike traditional internships, all roles in this programme are permanent positions from day one. You will be placed within specific business units across the retail and commercial banking segments, working on high-impact, end-to-end technology solutions—ranging from architectural design and software development to testing and systems management.
Graduates perform a full-time role while simultaneously participating in a structured development programme. This includes monthly professional training sessions, an "Action Learning Project," and collaborative brainstorming initiatives. You will be expected to actively listen to customer needs and translate them into innovative code, while working in an agile environment that values game-changing thinking and groundbreaking tech.
Salary: R18,500 – R25,000 per month (Research Estimate: Based on current FirstRand/FNB graduate entry-level scales for Engineering and IT roles in Gauteng).
Requirements
Education: Currently in the final year of a University degree or completing a Postgraduate qualification (Honours, Master’s, etc.).
Fields of Study: Engineering disciplines (specifically Electrical, Electronic, or Industrial), Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or related technology-focused degrees.
Academic Record: Strong academic results are mandatory; a full academic transcript must be submitted with your application.
Technical Skills: A strong coding aptitude is essential. You must demonstrate analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving skills.
Attributes: Proactive learner, team player, and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Citizenship: Appointments are made in line with the FirstRand Group Employment Equity Plan.
