Experienced MHE Operator Role at Absolute Pets Warehouse

An MHE Operator plays a crucial role in the efficient movement and management of goods within a warehouse environment. At Absolute Pets, a leading pet retailer in South Africa, this position involves operating various material handling equipment to ensure the smooth flow of products from receiving to dispatch, ultimately supporting the timely delivery of premium pet foods and accessories to over 200 stores nationwide. This role is vital for maintaining inventory accuracy, optimizing storage space, and contributing to the overall operational excellence of the supply chain. Candidates will develop strong logistical skills, enhance their understanding of warehouse management systems, and gain valuable experience in a fast-paced retail distribution setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate forklift (Counterbalance Lift Truck) and other material handling equipment to transport goods safely and efficiently within the warehouse.
• Load and unload trucks, ensuring proper handling, secure placement, and accurate documentation of incoming and outgoing goods.
• Stack and organize products in designated warehouse locations, optimizing space utilization and ensuring easy accessibility.
• Carefully load vehicles for dispatch, adhering to safety protocols and ensuring the integrity of products during transit.
• Deliver stock to stores in a timely and accurate manner, verifying correct items are dispatched to specific locations.
• Receive orders from suppliers, meticulously checking quantities and quality against delivery notes.
• Label and pack stock in an orderly fashion, preparing items for storage or dispatch.
• Pick and dispatch orders daily, ensuring accuracy and efficiency to meet store demands.
• Record any damaged goods, initiating appropriate procedures for reporting and resolution.
• Relocate and re-stack goods as needed to accommodate new deliveries and maintain an organized warehouse layout.
• Maintain the tidiness and cleanliness of the warehouse, adhering to health and safety standards.
• Assist with the preparation and execution of stock takes, contributing to inventory accuracy.
