Key Responsibilities
- Operating Service HV Plant: Participate in the safe and efficient operation of high-voltage plant equipment, learning about control systems, monitoring parameters, and responding to operational demands under supervision.
- Maintenance: Assist in the execution of routine and preventative maintenance tasks on electrical infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance and longevity of critical assets. This includes fault finding, repairs, and component replacement.
- Inspections: Conduct thorough inspections of electrical plant and equipment, identifying potential issues, wear and tear, and ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards.
- Safety: Adhere strictly to all safety protocols, procedures, and regulations, including ORHVS (Operating Regulations for High Voltage Systems) and the OHS Act, fostering a culture of zero harm in the workplace.
- Mentoring and Coaching: Engage actively in mentorship opportunities, learning from senior technicians and engineers, and contributing to a collaborative team environment.
- Environment: Understand and contribute to environmentally responsible operational practices, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and sustainable energy management principles.
- Documentation and Configuration Management: Assist in maintaining accurate records, updating technical documentation, and managing configuration changes for plant equipment to ensure operational integrity and traceability.
- Non-Outage Related Activities and Condition Monitoring: Participate in activities outside of planned outages, including continuous condition monitoring of equipment to predict and prevent failures, optimizing plant availability.
