Africa Talent by Deloitte β a standalone division jointly owned by Deloitte Africa and Deloitte Netherlands β is recruiting ambitious IT and technology graduates for its IT and Specialised Assurance Graduate Programme 2027, based in Johannesburg, Gauteng.
This exciting 12-month graduate contract is designed for recent graduates who are academically strong, intellectually curious, and passionate about technology and its role in business. As a Junior Consultant, you will be embedded in real IT audit and assurance engagement teams, delivering high-impact technology assurance solutions to high-profile, international clients across multiple industries β all while working in a true hybrid environment that offers both local and international exposure from South Africa.
Africa Talent by Deloitte exists to develop and deploy African talent for clients across Africa and Europe. This programme is your launchpad into a globally connected, high-performance professional career β one where your ambition is the only limit to how far you can grow.
After completing the 12-month programme, high-performing graduates will be considered for contract extension or permanent placement with increasing responsibilities on future client assignments.
What the Programme Looks Like
Month 1: Structured onboarding β learn Deloitte's organisation, culture, values, and operating context
Months 2β12: Deployed on live IT audit and assurance engagements for international top-tier clients
Throughout: Peer-to-peer learning, experiential coaching, mentorship from senior Deloitte professionals, and formal skills development
Skills developed include: business process design, time management, conflict resolution, emotional resilience, critical thinking, and business solutioning
Key Responsibilities
Join client engagement teams delivering IT assurance and advisory services across industries
Perform IT audit assignments including General IT Controls (GITCs), application controls, and infrastructure reviews
Assist in identifying and mitigating risks associated with internal systems, business processes, data, and third-party reliance
Collaborate with global Deloitte colleagues on cross-border client engagements
Contribute creative ideas and a passion for excellence to client solutions
Participate actively in the graduate performance enhancement programme
Requirements
Currently completing or recently completed one of the following qualifications with less than 6 consecutive months of work experience:
BCom Information Technology or Information Science
BSc Computer Science or Information Systems
B Engineering (Industrial Engineering)
Any other relevant technology degree
No previous work experience required
Demonstrated interest and passion for technology and its applicability in business
Academically strong with a proven track record
Evidence of leadership activity at school or university is advantageous
Advantageous
Postgraduate qualification in any of the above fields
Exposure to IT audit, data analytics, or assurance concepts
Experience working in team environments or student leadership roles
