Warehouse Assistant (Inbound Fresh) at Babylonstoren

Babylonstoren, a leading agricultural and hospitality estate, is seeking a diligent Warehouse Assistant for its Inbound Fresh department. This role is crucial for maintaining the quality and efficiency of the fresh produce supply chain, ensuring that all incoming goods are handled with care and precision. The successful candidate will be responsible for the accurate receipt, inspection, and storage of fresh products, playing a vital role in the operational flow of the warehouse. Responsibilities

• Receive, inspect, and unload incoming shipments of fresh produce and other goods, verifying quantities and quality against purchase orders.
• Accurately check and verify all incoming goods against purchase orders and delivery notes, reporting any discrepancies or damages immediately.
• Efficiently move and place products onto designated shelves or racks, ensuring proper storage conditions, especially for cold-chain items.
• Pick and pack the correct items for customer orders with precision and speed, maintaining product integrity.
• Load outgoing orders onto delivery vehicles, ensuring secure and organised placement for transport.
• Utilise barcode scanners and computer systems for inventory management, tracking stock movements and maintaining accurate records.
• Operate various warehouse equipment, including forklifts and pallet jacks, safely and efficiently (training may be provided if advantageous experience is present).
• Assist with regular physical stock counts and inventory audits to ensure accuracy and minimise discrepancies.
• Monitor and report stock levels, identifying potential shortages or overstocks to management.
• Maintain a clean, organised, and hazard-free work environment in workstations and aisles, adhering to all housekeeping standards.
• Strictly follow all safety procedures and wear the required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times to ensure a safe working environment.
