Payroll Administrator Contract at Absolute Pets
Job Description
Absolute Pets, South Africa's leading pet care retailer with over 200 stores nationwide, is seeking a dedicated Payroll Administrator for a maternity cover contract until 31 May 2027. This role is crucial in supporting the finance department by primarily focusing on the accurate and timely processing of payroll for approximately 800 employees. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring smooth payroll operations, maintaining employee records, and assisting with various financial administrative tasks. Payroll
- Responsible for the preparation and processing of the monthly payroll for approximately 800 employees.
- Process hours from rosters/clocking systems accurately.
- Compile the clocking issue report based on rosters and clocking issue tickets from Think Time, reflecting hours worked and late comings.
- Prepare time register reports for all staff, reconciling short hours to leave reports and following up on discrepancies with managers.
- Review clocking feedback and adjust hours accordingly to ensure accuracy.
- Manage multiple incentive workings and calculations.
- Maintain accurate record-keeping of sundry deductions, garnishees, staff loans, and advances.
- Process new hires and terminations, including clocking setup, backpay, and termination leave calculations.
- Compile variance reports with adjustment tracker (Payroll Tracker updates) and submit for review by the financial manager.
- Conduct overtime checks, ensuring all overtime applications are approved and captured correctly on the payroll system.
- Ensure accurate capturing and processing of employee information and maintenance of employee banking details.
- Track staff movement for reporting purposes.
- Manage all payroll-related queries efficiently and professionally.
- Perform monthly reconciliation of all payroll-related General Ledger accounts.
- Prepare the monthly staff turnover report.
Financial Reporting
- Generate weekly Damaged & Expired Stock reporting.
- Produce weekly Pet Spa Price Changes reporting.
- Publish scorecards as required.
- Compile monthly Stock Transfer reporting.
- Conduct monthly Departmental Reporting checks.
Financial Processing
- Credit Cards: Process, report, and reconcile all company credit card spend.
- Manage the ordering, renewal, and cancellation of credit cards.
- Payroll Cashbook Processing: Process and reconcile the payroll bank account.
Other
- Deal with any company insurance claims efficiently.
- Perform general finance administration and filing duties.
- Assist as needed with other ad-hoc projects within the finance department.
