Mr D, a prominent division of the Takealot.com Group, is actively seeking a highly talented Retail Media Junior Account Manager to join its dynamic team in Cape Town. This pivotal role serves as a crucial stepping stone into full Account Management within the rapidly evolving retail media landscape. The Junior Account Manager (JAM) will provide essential operational, administrative, and client-support functions to the broader Retail Media team, working in close collaboration with Account Managers (AMs) and Key Account Managers (KAMs). The successful candidate will be entrusted with managing a portfolio of smaller advertisers/sellers, with a clear mandate to foster growth within these accounts through structured engagement and under the expert guidance of senior team members. This position offers unparalleled exposure to critical aspects of campaign planning, performance reporting, client service excellence, and the intricate commercial operations of e-commerce. You will play a vital role in ensuring client satisfaction and contributing to the overall success of Mr D's retail media initiatives, directly impacting revenue generation and advertiser relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Client Support & Portfolio Management: Manage a portfolio of small-to-mid-tier advertisers/sellers on the Mr D platform, ensuring their needs are met and campaigns are successful. Support AMs and KAMs with administrative and executional tasks across their client portfolios, facilitating smooth operations and efficient workflow. Conduct regular check-ins with assigned clients to ensure campaign execution aligns with expectations and objectives, proactively addressing any concerns. Gather client objectives, briefs, and assets accurately, ensuring timely delivery to internal teams for campaign setup and execution.
- Campaign Administration & Execution: Assist with the creation of campaign cost estimates (CEs), booking forms, and invoicing packs, maintaining financial accuracy and compliance. Ensure campaign bookings are loaded accurately into systems and aligned with internal calendars, preventing scheduling conflicts and optimising campaign delivery. Coordinate asset collection from clients for design and campaign management teams, ensuring all creative elements are ready and meet specifications. Support in compiling performance reports and packaging insights for client delivery, helping them understand campaign effectiveness and return on investment.
- Sales Support & Commercial Operations: Identify upsell opportunities within your smaller portfolio based on performance metrics and product availability, contributing to revenue growth and client expansion. Maintain CRM hygiene, updating client interactions, pipeline data, and account progress to ensure accurate record-keeping and client history. Support the team with rate card updates, product education, and process improvements, enhancing overall team efficiency and market responsiveness.
- Data & Insights: Pull data extracts and assist in basic analysis to support campaign optimisation and reporting, providing valuable insights for strategic adjustments.

Requirements
- A Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Commerce, or a related field.
- 1-2 years of experience in an account management, sales support, or administrative role, preferably within media, advertising, or e-commerce.

- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
