The Export Credit Insurance Corporation of SA (ECIC) invites ambitious and tech-savvy graduates to apply for its ICT Internship Programme for 2026. Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all IT-related queries and issues from approximately 90 end-users, ensuring prompt and effective resolution.
- Administer, maintain, service, and support end-user hardware and software, including setup, troubleshooting, and routine maintenance.
- Monitor and update the computer equipment inventory, ensuring accurate records and efficient asset management.
- Provide comprehensive support for PCs, printers, wireless networks, switches, and cabling infrastructure.
- Perform software installations, configurations, and ongoing support for various business applications.
- Support Windows 11 and Windows Server environments, ensuring system stability and optimal performance.
- Assist with the administration and support of Office 365 productivity and collaboration tools, enhancing user efficiency.
- Support SharePoint, Active Directory, and other critical business applications, ensuring seamless integration and functionality.
- Administer and maintain company email and internet facilities, ensuring reliable communication channels.
- Ensure adequate backups are regularly kept for critical data, implementing robust data recovery procedures.
- Maintain anti-virus control procedures and ensure timely virus definition updates are downloaded and installed on all desktops.
- Administer new equipment or peripherals, including managing quotes, orders, and invoices.
- Record and escalate IT service interruptions, collaborating with senior IT staff to resolve complex issues.
- Assist with various ICT projects, contributing to the implementation of new technologies and system upgrades.
- Provide weekly ICT reports on incidents and problem management, offering insights into system performance and challenges.
- Deliver basic end-user training on technology used within ECIC, empowering staff to utilise tools effectively.
- Assist with general ICT-related administrative duties, ensuring departmental efficiency.
- Participate in ICT activities conducted after hours, such as disaster recovery testing and major system changes, demonstrating commitment to operational continuity.

Requirements
- Diploma in Information Technology
- MCSE or equivalent qualification
- A+ certification
- N+ certification
- An ITIL Foundation Certificate will be preferred but is not essential.
- Good technical understanding of supporting and maintaining workstations
- Good technical understanding of maintaining networks in a Microsoft Windows environment
- Understanding of network architecture, including OSI models and protocols
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to take initiative
