About the Job
The City of Ekurhuleni is offering a comprehensive Youth Employment Programme for 2026, designed to equip unemployed young individuals with essential workplace experience and valuable skills development. Key Responsibilities
Assist with administration activities related to the rodent control programme and data management.
Perform data capturing and administrative duties to meet set standards.
Ensure customer satisfaction and service excellence in all tasks.
Complete all duties as assigned by the supervisor diligently.
Consolidate daily reports from General Workers and submit them to the Environmental Health Practitioner.
Report any absent Rodent Control Ambassadors to the Environmental Health Practitioner.
Ensure General Workers adhere to allocated areas and work plans.
Conduct ward-based door-to-door education and surveys on rodent control.
Provide information, education, and communication on environmental health matters.
Distribute educational pamphlets and mobilize community members for campaigns.
Follow up on identified infested premises and provide feedback.
Network and liaise with Environmental Health Practitioners.
Participate actively in rodent control education campaigns.
Report to the Environmental Health Practitioner as the immediate supervisor.
Achieve daily targets for premises inspected per Rodent Control Ambassador.
Complete daily attendance registers for voluntary participants.
Record the number of premises visited and pamphlets distributed.
Record all identified infested premises and follow-up actions.
Conduct health talks and assist with managing attendance registers at educational campaigns and block meetings.
