Job Description
This is a life-changing "first-work" experience designed to bridge the gap between unemployment and a career in retail. As part of the YES initiative, you will be placed within a busy retail store environment where you will gain hands-on experience in various departments.
Key responsibilities typically include assisting customers with queries, managing point-of-sale (till) operations, ensuring shelf availability through merchandising, and maintaining store standards. Beyond daily tasks, you will receive structured "world of work" training aimed at building your professional confidence, communication skills, and workplace etiquette.

Requirements
To be eligible, you must "tick the boxes" for all the following criteria:
Age: Between 18 and 28 years old.
Education: Grade 12 (Matric) is preferred.
Availability: Must be willing to commit to the full 12-month contract (April 2026 – March 2027).
Experience: You must not have been permanently employed with a single employer for more than 1 year.
Study Status: You must not be studying full-time during the 2026/2027 employment year.
Previous Participation: You must not have participated in or been registered for a YES programme before.
Logistics: You must be able to handle your own accommodation and transport costs to and from the workplace.
