The intern will be responsible for managing the receipt and issuance of all warehouse inventory using SAP in real-time, ensuring compliance with inventory controls and minimizing stock losses. This includes verifying supplier deliveries, managing rejected goods, and maintaining accurate records of all transactions. The role also involves ensuring the warehouse is maintained to Diageo's high standards of cleanliness, safety, and security, and actively participating in stock counts and cycle reconciliations. This is a full-time position based in Isipingo, South Africa, offering a comprehensive learning experience in a fast-paced and rewarding environment.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure effective execution of stock movements, including receipts and issues into the warehouse and production line.
Maintain compliance with all Diageo inventory controls and processes.
Minimize stock losses or damages through quality control, theft prevention, and loss management.
Ensure timely and complete issuance of goods to production.
Manage the receipt and issuance of all stores inventory using SAP in real-time, with same-day processing.
Verify that quantities and quality of goods delivered by suppliers meet contractual commitments on purchase orders.
Issue goods rejection notes for non-conforming materials and ensure timely collection by suppliers.
Ensure completeness and accuracy of movement and transactions by regularly reviewing relevant reports.
Maintain the warehouse in accordance with relevant Diageo standard operating procedures, physical security policy, quality policy, and risk standards.
Always apply Diageo Health and Safety rules during all store processes for self and others.
Conduct daily reviews of the warehouse to confirm cleanliness and safety compliance.
Prepare for, participate in, and follow up on regular stock counts according to Diageo ATBP stock count procedures.
Reconcile daily cycle counts for all SKUs, explaining and following up on variances between physical and book quantities.
Report and manage blocked stock and returns to suppliers as required.
Support in placing orders and managing stock levels for all consumables.
Manage returnable packaging and process returns to suppliers for credit.
Assist in planning, development, and implementation of warehouse projects.
Ensure SAP compliance for all purchase order movements.
Lead and support forklift drivers to effectively deliver according to production plans and set KPIs.

Requirements
Relevant degree/diploma, preferably in the field of Supply Chain Management.
Minimum 12 months of functional expertise in warehouse management processes.
Good command of English (written and spoken).
High computer literacy (SAP experience is an advantage).
Good numeric skill set and high-level data accuracy.
Experience working within a Performance Management structure of KPIs and Tier Review Meeting structure.
Proven track record in adherence to Core Process and Standards.
Demonstrates role model behaviour and coaches others.
Proactively leverages learning curriculums and materials on Diageo Academy and other sources for continuous development.
Demonstrates leadership capabilities in winning through execution, inspiring through purpose, shaping the future, and investing in talent.
