Job Description
The United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) is seeking qualified and motivated individuals for its 2026 Internship Programme. This is an excellent opportunity for recent graduates or current students to gain practical experience in international development, focusing on Sexual and Reproductive Health Rights, HIV, Gender, Adolescent and Youth programmes, and Operations. Interns will play a crucial role in supporting UNFPA's programme planning, coordination, and administrative functions, contributing to streamlined processes and improved efficiency within the organization. Key Responsibilities
Provide support in planning and coordination of inter-agency forums, stakeholder meetings, and other relevant events.
Assist with compiling background documentation for programme summaries, briefing notes, talking points, and concept documents.
Support the integration of content and platforms for internal communications, collaborating with colleagues at regional and country levels.
Assist in the coordination of work plans for SRHR and HIV, Gender, and Adolescents and Youth programmes, including logistics for capacity building workshops and training.
Monitor and support the implementation of SRHR and HIV, Gender, and Adolescents and Youth activities.
Support other activities aligned with the specific portfolio the intern is assigned to.
Assist the Country Office with VAT management and recoveries.
Regularly monitor and analyze detailed expenditures, check fund availability, and communicate with relevant managers.
Support the preparation of Annual Work Plans and budgetary adjustments in QUANTUM Plus.
Assist in preparing donor financial reports.
Prepare documentation and liaise with the finance team for payments, including monitoring and follow-up of outstanding processes.

Requirements
Recently graduated with a university degree, and if selected, must start the internship within one-year of graduation; OR be enrolled in a first university degree programme (such as bachelor’s degree or equivalent) and have completed one full academic year; OR be enrolled in a postgraduate degree programme (such as master’s programme or higher); OR be enrolled in a postgraduate professional trainee programme and undertake the internship as part of this programme.
Demonstrate interest in the field of development.
Demonstrate written and spoken proficiency in at least one of the working languages of the United Nations (English).
Demonstrate ability to adapt to new environments and to establish and maintain good working relations with individuals of different cultural backgrounds.
