Truworths International, one of South Africa's most iconic and JSE-listed fashion retail groups — incorporating Truworths, Identity, YDE, and Uzzi — is opening its 2026 Stores Learnership Programme to eligible candidates across all nine provinces of South Africa.

This is a structured, 12-month NQF-accredited learnership in Wholesale and Retail Operations that gives successful candidates genuine, hands-on cross-training experience inside a real Truworths retail store — covering the sales floor, service desk, stock management, and customer service in one of South Africa's leading fashion environments.

This learnership is specifically aimed at persons living with disabilities, promoting inclusion and empowerment within the retail sector. Truworths is committed to investing in people who are passionate about fashion and ready to build a real career — and this learnership is designed to be the first step of that journey.

The learnership allows individuals to be cross-trained, making them able to operate on both the sales floor and the service desk of a retail outlet. Working with customers and stock will be a key focus area. To be successful in this position, you must be committed to learning and completing logbooks and be prepared for assessments to be found competent as a cross-trained sales consultant.

With hundreds of stores across South Africa and a strong track record in retail skills development, Truworths offers learners the workplace exposure, structured training, and professional foundation needed to compete in the fashion retail industry — and potentially transition into permanent employment.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist customers on the sales floor with styling advice, product knowledge, and seasonal promotions

• Process point-of-sale (POS) transactions, handle payments, and manage cash accurately

• Assist customers at the service desk — processing returns, exchanges, and new store account applications

• Maintain store presentation, visual merchandising standards, and stock displays

• Receive, count, and manage stock — including stock control, security tagging, and inventory management

• Complete all required logbooks and workplace assessments as part of the NQF qualification

• Maintain a minimum of 120 working hours per month throughout the programme

• Adhere to Truworths' company values, store standards, and professional conduct requirements
