Job Description
The South African National Petroleum Company (SANPC), the newly formed state-owned entity merging PetroSA, iGas, and the Strategic Fuel Fund, is inviting applications for its 2026 Work-Integrated Learning (WIL) Programme.
This initiative is a critical part of SANPC’s mission to build a robust skills pipeline for South Africa’s energy and petroleum sector. The programme is specifically designed for students who require practical workplace experience to complete their qualifications or for recent graduates looking to gain foundational industry knowledge.
Available Fields of Interest
While SANPC operates across the energy value chain, they typically seek candidates in:
Engineering: Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, and Petroleum Engineering.
Sciences: Geology, Geophysics, and Environmental Sciences.
Business & Support: Finance, Accounting, Supply Chain, Human Resources, and Law.
Operations: Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) and Logistics
Requirements
To be eligible for the SANPC WIL/Internship programme, you must meet the following:
Citizenship: Must be a South African citizen.
Education: Currently enrolled in or recently completed a Diploma, Advanced Diploma, or Degree at a recognized South African tertiary institution.
Academic Need: For WIL applicants, a formal letter from your institution confirming that workplace experience is a requirement for your qualification is essential.
Status: Must be currently unemployed and have not participated in a previous internship programme with a state-owned enterprise (SOE).
Skills: Strong analytical skills, a willingness to learn, and a passion for the energy sector.
