Job Description
The Department of Defence is officially inviting young South African citizens to apply for the Military Skills Development System (MSDS) 2027 Intake. This program is not just a job; it is a competitive entry point into the SA Army, SA Air Force, SA Navy, and SA Military Health Service.
Successful candidates will undergo Basic Military Training (BMT) to instill discipline and combat skills, followed by specialized musterings such as Engineering, Intelligence, Pilot training, or Combat roles.
Selection Process Includes:
Psychometric evaluation and interviews.
Comprehensive medical examinations (including HIV/AIDS testing).
Physical fitness evaluations (Running, push-ups, and sit-ups).
Criminal record vetting.

Requirements
To qualify for the SANDF 2027 Intake, you must meet the following strictly enforced criteria:
Nationality: Must be a South African Citizen (No dual citizenship).
Age: * 18 – 22 years (Grade 12 learners/graduates).
Up to 26 years (Graduates with a 3-year Diploma or Degree).
Education: * Grade 12 with specific subjects (Maths and Science are mandatory for Technical, Pilot, and Navy roles).
No criminal record.
Physical: Must be medically fit and fit for combat training.
Status: Must be single (not married) and remain single for the duration of the two-year training.
