The Talent Room is currently facilitating a 12-month Sales Trainee Internship as part of the YES (Youth Employment Service) initiative. This programme is specifically designed to provide unemployed youth with a high-quality "first-job" experience in a professional corporate environment.
The role is ideal for a results-driven individual who wants to build a career in professional sales and business development. You will be trained to market specialized skills development and training solutions to corporate clients, helping businesses navigate the complexities of SETA compliance and BBBEE codes.
Key Responsibilities
As a Sales Trainee, you will be expected to:
Market Solutions: Promote and market skills development and training services to corporate entities.
Business Development: Identify new business opportunities and build sustainable relationships with prospective clients.
Needs Analysis: Conduct thorough client analyses to recommend tailored training solutions.
Presentations: Prepare and deliver professional sales presentations and proposals.
Compliance Knowledge: Stay updated on industry trends and SETA/Skills Development legislation (Skills Development Act, BBBEE).
Target Management: Work toward meeting and exceeding monthly and quarterly sales targets.
After-Sales Service: Provide excellent support to ensure client satisfaction and long-term retention.
Requirements
To qualify for this YES Internship, applicants must meet the following:
Education: * Matric (Grade 12).
A National Diploma or Degree in Sales, Marketing, or a related field.
Experience: 1–3 years of experience in Sales is required (ideally within the training, education, or development services sector).
Technical Skills: * Proficient in MS Office Suite and CRM systems.
Understanding of SETA-accredited programmes and South African skills development legislation.
Personal Tools: A valid driver’s licence and a willingness to travel for client meetings.
Communication: Exceptional negotiation, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
