Job Description:
Watchmaker Genomics is looking for a meticulous and driven R&D Intern to join their Enzyme Development Group. This is a hands-on role where you will support the development of high-performance enzymes used in genomics and molecular biology applications. You will work closely with scientists to generate accurate, consistent, and timely results that contribute to product development.
Key Responsibilities:
Execute laboratory experiments under supervision.
Assist with the characterization of enzymes (Quality Control and Performance Testing).
Maintain accurate records of experimental data (Electronic Lab Notebooks).
Prepare buffers and reagents for the laboratory.
Assist with general laboratory maintenance and organization.
Present results to the Enzyme Development Group.
Requirements
Education:
BSc Honours or MSc in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Genetics, or a related discipline. (MSc is often preferred).
Skills:
Strong understanding of molecular biology techniques (PCR, qPCR, etc.).
Excellent organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
Ability to work in a fast-paced R&D environment.
Computer literacy (Data analysis).
