PackMedia Estimating Intern – Pyrotec (Cape Town | Grade 12)

Pyrotec PackMedia, a leader in innovative on-pack informational and promotional label and leaflet solutions, is offering an exciting 12-month internship for an Estimating Intern.

This junior-level position is based at their state-of-the-art facility in Capricorn Park. The successful candidate will support the Estimating Department in preparing accurate quotes and managing production-related data. As part of this contract, Pyrotec is committed to your professional development, providing specific training in cost estimating, printing processes, and production workflows.

Key Responsibilities

• Quotation Support: Review and analyze customer requests to prepare accurate quotations.

• Data Capturing: Input data to calculate cost estimates, including materials, labor, and production variables.

• Supplier Coordination: Request, track, and record supplier pricing for estimating purposes.

• Production Liaison: Work closely with the Production Team to understand shop-floor capabilities and processes.

• Revision Management: Assist in updating quotes when project specifications change.

• Market Research: Help identify new materials or suppliers to improve quality or reduce costs.

• Administration: Ensure the accurate organization and storage of all estimating documentation.

To get your foot in the door, you must meet the following criteria:

• Education: Minimum Grade 12 (Matric) certificate.

• Skills:

  • Excellent mathematical and numerical ability (Essential).

  • Computer literate with good Excel skills (MS Office is a must).

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.

• Attributes: High attendance record, ability to work independently, and a proactive team player.

• Advantageous: A genuine interest in the printing or manufacturing/production industry.
